Keynote Speaker
UPDATE (01/16): Unfortunately, Paul will be unable to join us for personal reasons. While unfortunate, rest assured that we still have a great lineup for the day. See you on Jan 30!
Our keynote speaker this year is Paul Frenette, MD. Dr. Frenette is the Chair and Director of the Ruth L. and David S. Gottesman Institute for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine Research at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Dr. Frenette’s lab is interested in understanding how hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) and mature blood cells traffic in vivo. His team has uncovered a key role for the nervous system in regulating HSC trafficking and is evaluating its role in the inflammatory response in diseases such as sickle cell disease. The Frenette lab is also exploring whether the traffic paradigms uncovered for healthy stem cells applies to cancer cell migration and metastasis.
